What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie McFerrin will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word. The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.

This weeks word is Determination.

The plant was only tiny, hanging onto its crack for dear life. Clinging to the start it had and determined to continue its very existence.

Elle did not know whether to laugh or cry at the futility of it all.

The plants very existence was against all the odds, surrounded by stone, baked by the sun, who knows how much rain it got. But still it clung to life.

Elle realised this was th esign that she had ben looking for, it was time to get on with her life.
