Getting It Together

Before I had my son I was incredibly organized. I was a typical Type A personality, lived at work. I was the only person that they needed to ask to do overtime as I always said yes.

Then I got pregnant! Man what a difference that made. Baby brain is real! As all mothers will tell you.

The once organized me was gone, I can still remember my husband one day pleading with me to get organised. Though to be honest I can't remember what I was having trouble with that day.

Now 4 years later and I still am not as organised as I use to be. There are days when it is really really annoying. I am hoping that next year I will finally be able to get my act together, we'll that's the aim anyway.

Kris Kringle

This year my group of friends decided that we should do a Kris Kringle presents. Names were put in a hat and drawn out, literally. Lucky for me one of my friends is a great organiser (Yes Renee I am looking at you).

We were meant to buy presents over the net but I am not very good on the computer (I need to learn), and when one of my frinds said she wasn't doing that I was very relieved. So I bought, wrapped and sent off my presents (then had a nervous wait to make sure they got there).

The above photo is what I recieved for my gift. It may be a little hard to see but its a bottle of Killawarra Strawberry Champagne (my favourite) with 2 champagne glasses and chocolates. This was bought on like from Signature Hampers (thats what was on the card) and I have to say that I am really impressed with it.

My husband was given a Metallica dvd (he is a major fan) and something called "On The Rocks". These are natural soapstone cubes that are designed to keep in the freezer and use in your drinks instead of ice. They will not dilute your drink and all you have to do is rinse, let dry and refreeze. I am going to be using these!

What are the rest of you getting for christmas? One of my friends is currently overseas, how is that for a great present.

Tune Tuesday- Funky Col Medina

Funky Col Medina was released in 1989 on Tone-Locs album "Loc-ed After Dark". Now I am not sure that I should admit to this but I was 13 when this song came out. This, along with Tupac, was my first introduction to RnB. Twenty years later I still love this type of music.

Nightmares!

Do you suffer from nightmares? I have, still do actually. All my life I have had nightmares, I can even remember them in primary school.

They were the sought of dream from which you wake with in a cold sweat, heart pounding, too afraid to move, with every sense straining to locate the danger. Let me tell you it's not a fun experience. I have never had a normal dream, as such, only ever nightmares.

When I was in my early twenties I bought a dreamcatcher and it made a huge difference. Oh don't get me wrong, the nightmares didn't stop but they lost their edge. No longer absolutely terrifying but still there.

I was hoping it was just me but my don has complained every now and then of a bad dream. Tonight makes me think he's going to be like me.

I got home from work just before midnight and tucked him in (he kicks his blankets off just like his dad). Not long after I went to bed I started to hear a funny noise.

When I went to investigate he's in his bed sobbing his heart out, tears rolling down his face. What I could hear was that hiccuping sound you make when really distressed.

I got into his bed to cuddle him and when he could finally talk he told me he had had a sad dream. A little boy had gotten lost and had to live with other people, not his parents. Eventually he settled and went back to sleep.

I didn't. I spent the next few hours worrying about the fact that he has nightmares and trying to work out what to do. I still don't know!

Any suggestions?

Tune Tuesdays- White Lines

This was one of my favourite songs. The original by Grandmaster Flash was released about 1983. When you listen to the lyrics you just have to ask yourself, are they talking about cocaine???

#FMSphotoaday- November Update

Day 1: something beginning with C

I have to say that November turned out to be a bit of a write off for me. I got very little done unfortunately. I had planned on doing a weekly update here of the photos I was taking, but as you guessed that didn't end up happening.

Day 4: TV. This was my grandfathers chair and now its mine.

Day 5: 5'oclock. Though I could have used this as Day 7: reflection also.

Over the month  I took, probably, about 5 photos. Not all through instagram so I had to check twitter to see what I had posted.
Day 21: what you wore. I beaded the decoration around the hat myself.

And thats it. 4 in total that I can remember. But I am not giving up, December starts today and I have already planned my first photo. I also am trying a new approach, I have written each days prompt into my diary. I do better with things written down.
