What it’s all about: Five Sentence Fiction is about packing a powerful punch in a tiny fist. Each week Lillie McFerrin will post a one word inspiration, then anyone wishing to participate will write a five sentence story based on the prompt word.

The word does not have to appear in your five sentences, just use it for direction.

"Here, I got you something", Alyce placed a large brown box on her mothers table. "Think of it as a housewarming present".

Alyce watched as her mother opened the box and stared at it's contents.

"What is it?" Alyce laughed at her mothers tone of voice.

"Its called a dog mum, though actually its only a puppy. With you out here alone all the time I thought you could use some company".

Carefully her mother lifted the small ball of wriggling brown fur out of the box.

Alice read the document again, gaze settling in the important words.

Divorce Finalised.

It was over, kaput, twenty five years of her life gone, replaced by a younger model.

In a sudden fit of rage, she ripped the paper into pieces.

Watching them flutter to the floor, like an echo of the ruins of her life.

A to Z April Challenge

A lot of people participating in the A to Z April Challenge are going with themes this year, and there was a big theme reveal day. I decided against a theme, as such, this year as this will be my first year (and we are going away during the middle of the challenge).

I have randomly chosen a group of words from the Austalian Concise Oxford Dictionary. Some my posts might start with the dictionary meaning, or part of, if it helped inspire what I wrote. Some may end up being inspired by images I find around the place.

A To Z April Challenge

Blog link

I happened upon this challenge through one of the blogs I follow. I have read all of their posts and have been umming and ahing over whether I should join in.

I have been through all the usual arguments, will I have the time to do the posts (they recommend you write and schedule them before the month starts), what will my theme be etc. will I have the time to visit other blogs and comment (need to be more organised time wise).

In the end I decided just to go for it.

Why not? What do I have to loose?

Nothing!

And it just might help me set some much needed routines. Not to mention help myself stop doubting myself. After all if I never try it how will I know if I can do it or not.

FSF- Furious

Love this door and the flowering vine surrounding it.

Jaw clenched, Gia stopped outside the door. Mentally counting to 10 to try and calm down.  Steeling herself she stepped across the threshold, eyes scanning the gloom. As anger and frustration battled with fear she practically flew across the room.

"What the hell do you think your doing?' She screamed at her sister, dashing the partially raised needle from her hands.
